begin around age 3 or 4 getting up at 4.30 to practice skating, if not home schooled, after regular classes you take classes in ballet and gymnastics there skating until dinner, then homework.all this is VERY EXPENSIVE but the goal is to win ribbons then state and national championships them get to the OLYMPIC TRIALS THEN THE OLYMPICS hopefully win a medal or two, compete in two or three Olympics,get some fame, join an ice show then later open a skating school and repeat the cycle.i was told all this by an attractive but broken blonde who worked at a frisco strip show..she had blown out both ankles at Olympic Trials and disappointed her exhausted parents.she fled her parents and having no other skills began taking her clothes off for money. i asked what her plans were for the future and she just stated out the dirty cab window forlornly.sigh
