i watch a new show called COVERT AFFAIRS on the usa network, last nites plot was about us made stinger missiles being smuggled back into this country,now the show is about a rookie cia agent (the yummy blonde PIPER PARABO sp?) it had a peek at inadvertent(?)cia sponsored terrorism and the international weapons trade.
WHAT THEY DID NOT MENTION was that Bill Clinton had an offer from the Taliban when he was prez, to buy back their unused Stinger missiles for $10K apiece AND HE REFUSED! WTF? now the WikiLeaks story reveals that said Stingers are now being used to shoot down NATO helicopters. No Surprise there..

Andrew Basovich (sp?) US Army Retired has a new book WASHINGTON RULES-AMERICA'S PATH TO PERMANENT WAR. he has been flogging his book and idea on Democracy Now and Rachel Maddow of late and now he's in the SF Bay Area and doing radio talk shows like YOUR CALL today.
his implicit message is that since the INVENTION OF THE COLD WAR america has been on a PERMANENT war footing-winning or losing while preparing for the next one.this is CLASS WARFARE in the truest sense as the Military Industrial Complex lines it pockets with WHITE COLLAR WELFARE while the poor starve.remember Reagan's STAR WARS "LIKE TRYING TO HIT A BULLET WITH ANOTHER BULLET" reputable scientist said,IT HAS NEVER WORK AS ADVERTISED BUT IS STILL BEING FUNDED! wonder if that is on Gates' cutback list.

china & india are kicking out ass education wise and soon every other wise too, the Demopublicans fiddle as USA=ROME crumbles. Krugman rightly points out that education and infastructure are the keys to any strong economy or EMPIRE (my analysis). when Rome fell to the so called barbarians the government was run by inbred and often insane idiots (see Bush Crime Family and CONGRESS), the schools and roads fell into disrepair, the Roman Legions army consisted of mostly foreigners and mercenaries..you get my drift.
