THE AK 47
i have seen videos where an AK 47 has been submerged in a swamp for a week or month then tapped to clear the breech and worked perfectly.have seen vids of an AK $& assembled from crude parts from several ex-'commie' countries and it worked perfectly.have seen more vids about the AK 47 and it modern cousin the AK 74 and.....well,you get the idea.
the M-16
this finicky fastidious lil darling has been killing troops since Viet Nam, unfortunately many of the troops wore the Stars & Stripes, just as recent articles recount more jammed M 16 fatalities in the bloody wars of Iraqistans. the M-16 must be kept pristine lets its delicate innards malfunction, no such time for this during a fir fight in an arid gritty dusty land...so i was first puzzled then concerned that DARPA ia looking to upgrade the M-16 for "future conflicts"..read Somalia & Yemen where the Special Ops folks are already chomping at the bit for a "winnable war'(sic)...SIGH.
its not like we're in the middle of a Great Recession or something
and need trillions to rebuild our beleaguered aging Empire or anything.,
yeah right.
