WINTER'S BONE, as SM pointed out i neglected to mention the movie's title in the blog HARDSCRABBLE.a rare case where i posted in Facebook and neglected to mention it here.SIGH.

WILLIE BROWN ex SF Mayor, SF Chronicle sunday columnist and all around jackass commented that "this movie is so depressing.It makes me glad I'm not white." a reader then wrote to him that this was written despite the fact that ALL of the wimmin he dates,and often impregnates, ARE White...as i mentioned he is AN ALL AROUND JACKASS.

WINTERS BONE, the plot is simple.Bree (JENNIFER LAWRENCE) is looking for her dad, a current day Ozarks meth cooker who has jumped bail for which he put up their log cabin house and adjoining woodlands. Bree cares for two younger siblings and a depressed fugue state silent mother.to describe them as dirt poor would be generous.Bree must turn over her father, dead or alive, to the bail bondsman or "be thrown out in the field like dogs", as she so eloquently puts it.like i said, the GOP version of Darwinian 1931 america.SIGH & CRY?

superficially bleak it is a rawboned rough hewn hymn to the power of love on the frontiers of human character, almost mythic in its simplicity.if you only see two or three movies a year, try and make this one of them & tell me what u think.okay?

apparently normal human hemoglobin is about 114 (per?) whereas mine was 82 and even after the transfusions only got up to 93, so i am still operating at least than full horsepower, much like my antiquated 12 year old oft patched stemapunk PC.
