NO POLITICS TODAY...

"Democracy is the art of running the circus from the monkey cage."
HL Mencken (one of my more caustic heroes)

aloha from "PARADISE"
yesterday was BEAUTIFUL, a chamber of commerce grandiosity. i spent a good part of it looking for black cargo pants, i settled for dark blue after driving a a half hour to nearby Watsonville.even Soul Mate went for a loong healthy walk, WONDERFUL.

GREENERY
it is supposed to rain steadily for three straight days so i went out and fertizled our plants with time release plant food, we have a palm tree growing in our backyard and the Easter Lilies are already in bloom, our robust camelias are thriving and flowering and our odd collection of succulents, most of which were abandoned when a nabe moved in with his kids, are spreading happily.

@ AMBIEN
PAGANI,
i was unaware that ambien made George HW Bush psychotic, as if he needed any help, i think one of the congressional Kennedys was caught sleep driving and Tiger liked bottomfeeder ambien sex...me, i had happy and refreshing dreams for a few nights but my days were a grey listless slog thru bitter reality and it was worsening so i stopped, back on the insomnia treadmill i guess...

@LOVE
SOUL MATE is watching MEET THE PRESS behind me and plans an 'exciting day' of CSPAN viewing while i wallow in mindless football, still haven't seen AVATAR yet but it's playing in 3D in Watsonville just off the freeway.after almost 18 years we are still deeply passionately in love despite everything around us in this...WHOOPS,TRYING TO STAY POSITIVE...hmmmm.

my kids are relatively healthy and MY EX (*) is still herself ditto my good friend G MAN,
nobody i love has died or 'self liberated' lately...my antique PC is still steaming along (steampunk model 000019P) and i think what's left of my mind/brainstem are still functioning.i have TONS OF QUOTES as yet unused :) and no shortage of opinions to go with them, hopefully i will not tax your patience TOO MUCH (?).

i am literally at a loss for words, mark the date (smile).

namaste y'all

  1. After I thought about it a long time, I'm now thinking it was Halcyon anyway, that he blamed for some strange behavior.

Now that I've had a chance to reflect, I can give you a note of hope (re Corporate money): It is entirely possible that a flood of corporate money will simply diminish the overall effect of money in politics in that people will simply start tuning out the ads.

You can also have a rubber band effect where votes snap back against being force fed a particular opinion and go in the opposite direction (reverse psychology).

Remember, we still have the votes. They spend all that money to try to persuade us to vote their way - but there no one can make us listen to them.

Anyway, it's good to have things for which to hope. :)
