INDIGO SCREAMS

i weep for haiti

old Katrina wounds
ripped open anew by
crushed bloody indigo
fingers.

crushed by decades of
corruption, capitalism, racism
from Jefferson
to Papa Doc to goons now.

i weep for haiti
from the centuries of physical
to economic slavery,
sewing baseballs for
pennies or less.

we cheer the
rescued survivors,
why?
the lucky dead
laugh,
where is the Power
of voodoo now?

does God take time off or
is it just a nasty disaster making
f*cker?
take this weight from upon
their breasts,
let haiti be haiti
finally.

i weep...

BTW the telethon was nice.
