from our campiagn work with concerned citizens of Willits KaliPornia, even ERIN BROCKOVICH came to visit.,

BACKSTORY

around the 90s lots of babies in tiny Willits were being born deformed..spines and internal organs outside the body, born with no eyes or no brain and other horrors.what on earth could be the reason.in the center of town was REMCO a war profiteer which for years had AN EXCLUSIVE FEDGOV CONTRACT to chrome plate the missile tubes for nuclear submarines.about thirty years tjhey did this before selling the company and moving to texASS....as the lumber mills started to die off it was the only good paying job in town, before pot farming and cooking meth came along.
now along comes LOU( last name forgotten)  who helped the troubled folks in HINCKLEY KaliPornia who were poisoned by PG&E for decades and he sees trend.so we got swept up in the investigation and subsequent lawsuit, not that we had any money to gain only vast experience as activists which was sorely needed.

HEX CHROME

turns out a necessary byproduct of chrome plating is toxic machine oils chock full of HEXAVALENT CHROMIUM which the body cannot process and which leads to both HEAVY METAL POISONING AND BIRTH DEFECTS...NOW REMCO HAD STARTED BEFORE THE EPA WAS IN EXISTENCEE BUT THE KaliPornia CLEAN AIR AND WATER BOARD HAD SUPINE LAISSEZ-FAIRE JURISDICTION.
now there was an approved Toxic Waste dumpsite ion Santa Rosa about 65 miles south in the next county but in all their years of local production REMCO HAD NEVER USED IT OR A LICENSED TOXIC WASTE HAULER (with trucks) instead they would make Midnite Runs (documented) around two or three ayem and dump toxic sludge ion ponds,lakes, by the side of roads, in the mountains and wherever else they could get away with it then they moved on.this resulted in a Toxic Footprint in the Willits aquifer, which was proved before concerned citizens sued...

WINNING IS?
long story short, the citizen 'won' in fedgov court..but after the site administrator, her staff and  bushels of experts and soil test labs took their cut the citizens got about $300 to $400 dollars each of the millions in punitive damages and thus could not afford to move away from the poisons.

THIS IS HOW 'THE SYSTEM' WORKS...SIGH.
