i take no pleasure in my constant jeremiads and screeds,
well okay i take some.....a lot actually but
if people will just stop  screwing up
long enough for me to catch my. breath.

as usual the two Sunday papers i read
( SF Chronicle and S'Cruz Sentinel)
have fueled me with more fodder
for predictable outrage.

1. according to MELISSA HARRIS-PERRY on MSNBC
the average salary for Walmart workers is 15K
a year, 15K in 2013 whereas the Chairman of Walmart makes
20.7 Million U$D a year @137,000 times that of the workers.
in comparison 21 years ago at Moscone Center in frisco
my union job paid 28Ka year...that was the 1990s
when Life wasn't cheap then either.
where is the outrage?
haven't enough workers in Bangladesh died
for our insanely cheap Walmart goods yet???

2. our Gov., the unlovable and ever cranky,
Jerry Brown has taken no position on Fracking in KALIpornia
which means in effect that the powerful Oil Industry lobbyists
will run wild and leave us a devastated local lunar
landscape like the Tars sands pits  in Alberta.
apparently 15.3 billion gallons of fossil fuels under
the Monterey Shale is awfully tempting to them.

in related recycling news they are re -purposing Iraqistan
 helicopters engines to assist Fracking ops and
 use natural gas,which is often discarded, instead of diesel.

3.Robert Reich,ex Clinton Secty of Labor and current UC professor,
has belatedly discovered that global multinational corporations
have no national allegiance in regards to bilking the U$A
( a la Mitt Romney) of billions in unpaid taxes.(imagine that!)
example in point, APPLE the home gorwn corp is paying less than 2%
in a tax dodge using Ireland to declare it's purloined  profits.

meanwhile the shills in D.C. are still fighting for even
LESS TAXES ON CORPORATIONS!
while cutting food stamps, aid to the elderly and disabled
and Medicare and Medicaid with a constant drumbeat
to gut Social Security as well....and aid to the homeless foreclosed.
this Economy has been gutted and forcibly fucked
( "a legitimate rape?) and yet D.C. can come up
with No Solutions to Wall $treet banksters.

 3a. wimmin are earning more than men because...
the long predicted shift from a well apid union jobs
Manufacturing Economy to a bare bones
scaled back non union low wage
Service Economy is nowhere.
read it and weep...this will not improve
 as we are now being resources raped like a
 Third World banana republic,
which ironically we used to control.

4.the local fishwrap,dubbed by most as The Senile
for it's antediluvian viewpoints, has a writer
 i usually disdain..one Wallace Baine
who unexpectedly wrote a cogent and non cutesy ode
to THE UNWINDING by George Packer
(an inner history of the new America)
a nonfiction historical "tragic opera" per Baine,
have seen him on CSPAN or DEMOCRACY NOW?
it basically says what i've been saying since this blog began.

WE ARE NOW  TOTALLY TOTALLY SCREWED
 AND THE GOOD JOBS ARE NOT COMING BACK.

SO LET'S ALL WATCH REALITY TV AND 
GUZZLE HIGH CAFFEINE ENERGY DRINKS 
WHILE THE RICHEST 1% OR  .01% LOOT AND
WRECK THIS ALLEGED SURVEILLANCE HEAVY
 DEMOCRACY WITH RECKLESS GREEDY ABANDON,.
it is to weep...so, when will the dreaded Chinese
start building and selling us killer drones?

5. TELEPRESENCE
it's been long predicted and many have seen it coming
and there are threats that the days of seeing your doctor
will go like the dodo under the pressures of profits via technology.
the healthcare policy blogs which i subscribe to
see this as a good thing(?) as it will free up
more doctors to spend less and less time with you
under Obamacare (long weary sigh)....

kids in South Korea are now  being taught English
via a low paid teacher robot enhanced in the Philipines,
per the GOP credo once you break the unions are gut education...

that's it have no good news to report other than
 it's another beautiful weekend here in Paradise
and the dumpu flannel clad legions of lesbians
will be marching in the local
Pride Parade while in comtemplate
a full night of GAME OF THRONES,
THE KILLING,NURSE JACKIE &
 THE BORGIAS....
