it was a pluperfect bezerkeley day in Peoples Park.
peeps sang off key sincerely, there were political speeches,
teary eyed stories, there were folk songs,a homeless man grabbed
the mic and shouted unintellngilbe gibberish,another man
had a confrontation with the gun visible in his hip pocket
shouts of GUN!spread FEAR across the small crowd
as  i sat fear-less waiting to die,unafraid and unusual.
i wore a respectful dark green tartan kilt and a black
KEEP SANTA CRUZ WEIRD tee
to the Celebration of Life of Gino Sasso.
another bearded man wore papal vestments and
a CAPITALISM IS THE CRIME placard.

SOUL MATE talked politics with
O WISE HOWARD &
one of his 2 dottirs attending
and her mentor EARL.
then we all went to eat at a great place we know.

a Memorial Day that actually was
no beaches,no fireworks
just Momento Mori..
it wasn't Fun but it was Nice
i am glad we went.
but i am now more exhausted than before...
