but, in honor of the DVD of INCEPTION being released either today or tomorrow i will recount one of my more elaborate dreams, not entirely a side effect of my sleep meds...
IN DREAMS
i am driving down a dark road, the trees so thick and tall they crowd out the sun. it is a narrow one lane dirt road which comes to an abrupt end.atrypically i get out to look around and ask directions, as i have no maps..also atypical.
i walk uphill along the road to find five white men in camo,crouched with shotguns,waiting to kill bears..several are eating thick juicy delicious looking club sandwiches. i ask where they got them, one whispers back "over that at the college, in the cafeteria".i look uphill where to points and see a gleaming white brick and glass modernistic college building..i walk to a glass enclosed stairwell and open an outisde door and enter, i smell food so i enter and descend four floors of white tiled walls to the basement. along the way i acquire "my Stalker" a 20s brunette in pigtails,watch cap, flannel,denim and hiking boot. i recognize her as stalking me...
at the cafeteria i find a harried waitress inside a window to the busy kitchen, i ask for a club sandwich. she tells me they only serve off the menu via table service, she tells me to take a seat...there are twenty or so large round tables,all of which are full except for a small one where my stalker sits...SIGH.
i decide to take the elevator to the surface, en route i see an incomplete outline of a bison with a pigs bristle art brush nearby, i complete the outline and take an elevator to the surface.
i come out somewhere else, on a busy city street near a police station.. i see a group of Bolivian indios in derbys and colorful serapes heading up the hill behind me, so i join them. we are soon trudging up fine grit volcanic sand along a cliff side which has a beautiful view of a red sun in the reflecting clouds. no one speaks or asks why i joined them.we soon come to a narrow dirt road with a guard shack where the indios check in for their janitor shifts, next to the guard shack and blocking the road is my car, a four door hatchback VW navy blue with gaffer tape on the driver side door(??)
i drive downhill to the busy street and turn left, i soon hear two female voices in my head commenting on my driving skills and motives.i enter the town of Live Oak, which looks like Felton and Ben Lomond on Highway 9 smooshed together,i drive along S curves and several female oriented stores. the voices are driving me crazy, commenting on my tattoos and Daddy issues.i pull over and stop, the is a condo complex next to where i stop and the voices get louder. i go inside and the voices belong to two attractive brown latina wimmin sitting at a sunny patio by the bank of elevators,they comment that, judging by my tats i would be happiest with "a busty black woman from the Southwest". i take the elevator down and come out at a basement level which is a huge round pool full of wimmin. i look up into an inverted bowl where each condo has a balcony which overlooks the pool below.i think "we should have one of these in berkeley".
it is only then i realize that half the wimmin in the pool are naked and the others topfree or suited.
a tall latina, bikini tanlines naked with a Frieda Kahlo unibrow and faint mustache above bad teeth, climbs out and confronts me kindly."can i help you?"
"just trying to get outta here" i respond.
she directs me to another bank of elevators halfway around the pool, i circle the pool help a woman open a stuck door tot the elevators then take an elevator up. it opens to a sunny patio covered in astroturf with many older wimmin stting and sunning themsleves while totally ignoring a wailing woman with long grey hair cloppased in a heap blocking my exti. i help her to her feet an she clings to me like a lifeboat as she crys and crys and crys, i notice her hair turning from grey to boren as her crying concludes. then she grinds her pelvis against me suggestivley as exhales hot breath into my ear.
"want to?" she purrs.
"what?" i respond before she turns and slinks away.
i go outside to find my car....
fin.
this is a fairly typical dream sequence for me, several times i have dreamt a sequence one nite then continued it the next nite, i have been recording my dreams for several decades which helps with detail and memory. sometimes i am the protagonist and others just a fly on the wall.this is why i loved INCEPTION most likely.

i lived in the Haight when speed was king then later in the Tenderloin at Geary and Leavenworth, i just realized that i integrated my building...my white friend Bill V told me about upcoming vacancy next to his place and i was the second to see the place before noon (the woman b4 had not liked the color of the walls or the offer by the manager Clyde to DIY) Clyde asked me what i thot of the walls, a pinkish salmon. i said IT HAS FOUR RIGHT,OKAY WITH ME. peeled off the rent and security deposit and began moving in that day. lil did i know that most of the lil olde lady retirees were terrified of me....as they were of the Korean couple who moved in to replace the sticky fingered Clyde.

found out that two of the five cab companies at that time did NOT hire wimmin, black and brown, i can name them since there was a lawsuit-Luxor and Desoto, the third company hired mostly Chinese that its owner Guy Wong could bully.so it was a choice of Yellow or Veterans (began by WWII vets natch) so i got hired by Veterans...didn't take long to find out where to go if you wanna get robbed...

we recently went to HENFLINGS a notorious biker bar along Highway 9, i was half expecting trouble but we went with friends.and soon saw latinos, polynesians and a couple of mixt breeds and aside from the spine-unfriendly bar stools we had a nice time.
